गर्मी इस कदर पड़ी
कि पानी को पसीना आया
पानी उड़ चला आसमां में
गर्मी से हुआ बौखलाया
क्या गर्मी है पानी चिल्लाया
हवा से मिला थरथराया
कहा मौसी में तो भरपाया
हवा ने चूमा तो सुस्ताया
तभी बादल काला आया
पानी ख़ुशी से चिल्लाया
पानी बरसा तो शोर मचाया
पानी से मिलकर गला भर आया
प्यासा था, जमकर घूँट लगाया
पानी-पानी में खूब देर नहाया
गर्मी की तपिश को दूर भगाया
पानी ने पानी को नहलाया
When Water Bathed Water
The heat was so cruel,
even water began to sweat.It rose, flustered, into the sky —
steam in panic,
sun in rage.“What madness is this?” water cried,
trembling as it met the wind.The breeze, gentle and cool,
wrapped around it like an aunt.“Rest here, child,” the wind whispered.
“You’ve burned enough.”Water sighed.
Then suddenly —
a dark cloud appeared.“There you are!” water shouted with joy.
Together, they roared back down.Rain fell.
Earth rejoiced.Thirsty lips sang.
Gulps echoed.
And under that downpour —
we bathed, danced, and healed.The sun ran.
The heat surrendered.Because…
Water had finally found water.
And water…
had bathed water.
