तो मैंने ट्रेंड का मान रखा
उसकी ओर देख मुस्कुराते हुए कहा
‘जी, ऐसे ही है जनाब आजकल’
और फिर लो भई हो गई
फ़्रेंड रिक्वेस्ट कॉन्फ़र्म
अब हम दोनों मिलकर
किसी की भी बखिया उधेड़ सकते हैं
आधी वो खोदेगा और बाकी मैं
अब हम किसी की भी
कब्र खोद सकते हैं
सोशल मीडिया का ज़माना जो है

The Gossip Protocol

I didn’t know him.
he didn’t know me.
he said something — not even to me —
and then looked at me,
expecting that sacred nod,
the one that seals social approval.

I smiled —
because, you know,
in the gospel of gossip,
knowing the truth isn’t required.
Only agreeing is.
That’s the rule, my friend.
Whether you care or not —
you must nod along.

So I followed the trend,
smiled back politely,
and said those golden words:

“Ah yes, sir, that’s how it is these days.”

And just like that —

Now we’re teammates —

Together we’ll unearth the buried lives
of people we hardly know.

After all,
